A New Destination = A New You!
Have you ever felt like a hamster on a treadmill? Working hard in every direction and going nowhere. If you do, it’s time to step back and re-evaluate. My re-evaluation led me to talking with a coach. I took an assessment and read several inspiring publications. I learned some things about myself. This journey has been AMAZING!
I changed the types of things I was studying and began a program of self-improvement. I have rediscovered strengths and accomplishments that I had forgotten. The journey prompted me to find and surround myself reminders of past accolades.
The next step was to set goals. You can’t get where you want to be unless you know where you want to go. Goal setting can only work if you set measurable and reachable goals. Setting long term goals forces you to set short-term goals as well. I found my current activities would not get me where I wanted to go. Period. With short-term goals in place, I know I’m heading in the right direction.
My recently joined mastermind group talks once a week. We review the previous week and our plans for the following week. We provide insights and support to each other. Resulting breakout conversations and business referrals are invaluable. We keep each other focused and accountable. We learn from each other and we tend to emulate the people around us.
